Colour pattern is the most important feature to identify an anemonefish in the field. Other useful characters, which include tooth shape, scalation of the head and body proportions, are mainly of value to laboratory workers identifying preserved specimens.

Sipadan the World Top Dive Spot (III)

Sipadan is well known for its unusually large numbers of green and hawksbill turtles which gather there to mate and nest and it is not unusual for a diver to see more then 20 turtles on each dive. Another unique feature to dives visiting Sipadan in the turtle tomb, an underwater limestone cave with a labyrinth of tunnels and chambers that contain many skeletal remains of turtles that became disoriented and then drowned.

The residential schooling barracuda and big-eye trevally are one of the highlights on every diver's wish-list which often gather in thousands forming spectacular tornado-like formations. With the possibility of seeing pelagic such as mantas, eagle rays, scalloped hammerhead sharks and whale sharks, each dive at Sipadan is a highly anticipated event.

Thus, let's go diving, let's go Sipadan.

Redang Island is the largest of a group of islands dotting the South China Sea off the Terengganu coast. The island offers crystal clear waters and numerous dive sites for the enthusiast.

Sheltered within the Redang Island Marine Park, the waters here abound with marine life.
Redang Island is one of most beautiful island in Malaysia. The island is located E ast coast of Malaysia. The distance from Merang (Jetty port) to Redang island is approximately 45 minutes jetty ride.

Redang island temperature range from 31 to 34 degrees Celsius in day. With a strong breeze of wind will still keep a cooling circling air to the island. Shining white beach sand with crystal clear light blue sea water give an unforgettable soothing relaxation sensation to people at the Redang island. With beautiful fishes swimming gracefully around the magnificent corals gives an exciting scuba diving or snorkeling activity for the people to watch them.

Group of Barracuda in Rayner's Rock!

On Aug 05th, myself and divers planned our 1st dive early in the morning from Wavebreaker to Rayner's Rock near Dayang Island. Surface current was quite strong that we need to use the speed boat to get close to the rock before we could enter the deep water.

After descent to around 12 meters, I looked up to the surface and noticed this group of barracuda. Then, I activated my camera and shot this photo immediately. Failed to shot the second photo as the camera (C-5060) took long time to write the RAW data to my memory card.

My first time found such a big group of barracuda in peninsula Malaysia dive site. Of couse you could easily visit the barracuda point in Sipadan island to see this. Or, browse my photo shot from barracuda point here.
